On February 18, 2021, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer
(MODIS) on board NASA’s acquired a true-color image of sea ice off the
   coast of New Brunswick, Canada.

Bright white fast ice clings to the shores in several locations in
coastal New Brunswick and Prince Edwards Island while thinner,
gray-tinted ice floats on the dark waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The Northumberland Strait, which separates Prince Edward Island and New
   Brunswick, appears about half frozen.

Young sea ice is typically thin enough to be easily moved by winds and
currents, and often takes on serpentine shapes. A few serpentine swirls
can be seen near the northern coats. Just off the northern tip of
Prince Edward Island a large patch of young ice appears to have been
stretched in a northwest to southeast direction by prevailing winds.
