   A mid-October tropical depression joined with the remnants of Tropical
   Storm Linfa to bring regional 100-year floods to parts of India. The
   worst flooding struck Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and
   Maharashtra, with rains of 322 mm (12.6 inches) falling in Ghatkesar on
   October 13-14. As of October 16, local media is reporting as many as 77
   lives lost in the recent flooding. According to the Indian Ministry of
   Home Affairs Disaster Management Division, National Emergency Response
   Center (NERC), on October 15, 1,489 people were affected in Odisha,
   with 643 people housed in 2 relief camps and 12 houses damaged. In
   Andhra Pradesh, 26,609 people have been impacted in 460 villages. They
   stated 4,402 people were housed in 25 relief centers. Situation reports
   from the State of Telangana and Karnataka were not received as of that
   date.

   On October 16, 2020, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer
   (MODIS) on board NASA’s Terra satellite acquired a true-color image of
   Tropical Depression 92A over the Arabian Sea, west of India. Heavy
   sediment can be seen flowing from the Gulf of Khambhat to the northeast
   of the storm.

   At 8:00 a.m. EDT on October 16, Tropical Depression 92A was located at
   17.8 N 70.7 E and was moving west at 9 mph (14 km/h). Maximum sustained
   winds were 30 mph (45 km/h).
