The Earth Science Picture of the Day (EPOD) highlights the diverse processes
and phenomena which shape our planet and our lives. EPOD will collect and
archive photos, imagery, graphics, and artwork with short explanatory
captions and links exemplifying features within the Earth system. The
community is invited to contribute digital imagery, short captions and

   Featured above is a lovely moment capturing the rose-colored  belt
   of Venus, the deep blue of the setting  Earth’s shadow and the
   snowclad  Pic de Rochebrune (10,890 ft or 3,320 m) in the
    Cottian Alps of France. The western sky as viewed from the
    Saint-Véran Observatory was simply stunning on this winter’s
   morning (January 11, 2021).
