archive photos, imagery, graphics, and artwork with short explanatory
captions and links exemplifying features within the Earth system. The

   Featured above is a long exposure image of an eye-catching storm I
   observed late last summer on the Mediterranean Sea, off Maganuco,
   Modica, Italy. Though  cloud-to-ground  lightning dominated in
   this small but intense  cell,  cloud-to-cloud lightning on
   occasion lit up the entire  storm. This image, a composition of 17
   individual photos, was taken on September 14, 2020.
