   Summary Author:  Aristeidis Bottas

   The photo above shows the Moon and Venus both as thin
   crescents, a few minutes after the reappearance of our sister planet
   following its occultation by our lone satellite. Patchy clouds
   present a more ethereal view of this encounter. An occultation takes
   place when Earth is in line with two other bodies and one is hidden
   behind the other. In this case, Venus was eclipsed by the Moon from
   9:44:15 - 10:46:12 p.m. (UTC+2) on June 19, 2020. Photo taken near
   Brussels, Belgium at 10:50 p.m. when the Moon lunation was 27.72
   days and its illumination just 3.5 percent. Venus' respective
   illumination was 8 percent.

   Photo Details: Canon EOS 6D Mark II camera; SCT 9.25 inch' telescope;
   F=2350; f/10; ISO 100; 1/320 second exposure; processing in Adobe
   Photoshop CS and 2020.
