[L]ist Files By Area
--------------------

This command will let you browse and tag files for download. You will
be prompted for and AREA NUMBER or given the choice to [L]ist the availble
AREAS.

There can be up to 1764 AREAS in this system. The convention is ###-##.
###-00 is TOPLEVEL. If there are no Sub-Areas under a toplevel area,
files will list as soon as you choose that area. If Sub-Areas are contained
then you will get a list of Sub-Areas to choose from, then the file listing.

You May enter multiple commands i.e "L1" to avoid the prompts. "L 1" will
work also. Both conventions will allow you to avoid unecessary prompting.
If you are going into Sub-Areas directly, you may use "L1-1". This will
give you Sub-Area 1 of top level 1. The first number indicates the Sub-Area
and the second number indicates of which main area you are looking into.
(This applies only to areas that contain more areas.)

After choosing the area to list you will be given a screen with 15 files
per screen and a new command prompt. From here you can tag files, search
files within that area, change areas, go back to the previous screen, view
the contents of an archive, continue listing or quit to the main file menu.

[#,#,#-# or ^]

Is how you tag files. You may enter any number 1 through 15

Singularly, or enter a few numbers delimited by commas:
             i.e Tagging files 1 4 6 10 you would enter "1,4,6,10[CR]"

To tag a clump of files in a row just use the dash:
i.e. Tagging files 9 through 13 you would enter "9-13[CR]"

You may also use a combination of both:
             i.e. Tagging files 1 3 9 through 11 you would enter "1,3,9-11[CR]"
             ------------------------------------------------------------------

Hitting the UP ARROW key will give you the spacebar tag/untag
option. For every file you tag the number by it will stay
highlighted, to untag just move your bar on the same number and
hit the space bar again. [CR] will get you out of this tag mode.

You will then be issued a list of tagged files and asked if
these are the files you want. If you choose yes you will be given
the option to download right away, edit your tag list, search
for a file int that area, change areas, continue listing, or
quit back to main file menu. Those options are pretty self-
             explanitory.

[?] Displays this help file. You may [S]top the display, view
the [P]revious page, [D]ownload this help file, and use
             [Enter] to continue listing pages.

[!] Turbo Quit. If you need to get back to the BBS fast without
backing out with a bunch of "Q" keystrokes and screenpaints,
just jhit "!" and you will be back in the BBS.

[A]rea This allows you to change file areas in the middle of a listing
or after you have tagged some files. You will be prompted for
an area number or [L]ist will make a list available to you.
Again, you may use multiple commands i.e. "A2" will change
your areas and prevent unecessary prompting. If you are going
into Sub-Areas directly, you may use "A1-2". This will give you
Sub-Area 1 of toplevel 2. The first number indicates the
Sub-Area and the second number indicates of which main area you
are looking into. (This applies only to areas that contain more
             areas.)

[S]earch While inside a listing, this search option will only search
the current area you are in. If you wish to do a GLOBAL search
use the [S]earch from the MAIN FILE MENU.

At present our search routine only searches by FILENAME.
You may enter all or partial filenames and a screen of matches
will appear for tagging. NO WILDCARDS! They aren't necessary
since you can search with partial names.

[X]end Displays extended information on a file. If a file has a
check mark by the descritpion, it will also display and extended
             description of that file

[C]ontents This will allow you the view the contents of an archived
file. At present you may only see what is in the file. We
will upgrade this feature in the near future.

[Q]uit Will take you back to the Main File Menu.

[P]rev This will allow you to look at the previous 15 files listed.

[CR] Continue listing. Every time you are listing and hit [CR] the
list will continue with 15 more files at a time until there
are no more files in that area, or you [Q]uit.

AFTER TAGGING FILES YOU GET A SUB PROMPT:

Sub Prompt
----------

[D]ownload You have the option to download your tagged files right away
from within this prompt. If you have not pre-selected a protocal
you will be given a list of protocals to choose from and you may
begin downloading your file(s). You are also given an option to
edit your tag list before download.

[E]dit This option lets you remove files within your batch list.
Choose the number of which file you wish to remove.
[C]lear will remove all files in batch list.

[A]rea You can change to a different file area from this prompt and
continue listing. You will be given an option to list the areas,
or you may use multiple commands i.e "A5" will change your
             listing to area 5.

[S]earch While at this prompt, this search option will only search
the current area you are in.

[Q]uit Quit will back you out to the main file menu from this point.

[CR] This will continue the listing process in the current area
             that you have chosen.

[D]ownload Files(s)
-------------------

If you have not listed and tagged any files first, you will be given the
option to ASCII upload a list that you have created offline. You can upload
up to 50 files in the list. The list must be filenames ONLY and 1 file per
line. After you are done uploading a list, either hit [CR] for the last line
or have a blank line in your ASCII list. The files will then be processed
for existence, access, time, bytes, and ratios. If any of the files go past
the critera you will be shown a list of the first ACCEPTABLE files and a list
if what may not be downloaded due to time, access etc. You will then be
prompted to Download your files. You will then be given the option to EDIT
your tag list, prompted for GOODBYE AFTER DOWNLOAD (Only if Sysop has this
option turned on), and finally a protocal selection (Only if you do not
have a preselected protocal).

If you choose not to upload a list you will be prompted to enter file names,
and then recieve the same options as if you uploaded a list.

If you have tagged files first your tag list will appear and you will be
prompted for any more files you physically wish to add. You will then be
prompted to Download your files. You will then be given the option to EDIT
your tag list, prompted for GOODBYE AFTER DOWNLOAD (Only if Sysop has this
option turned on), and finally a protocal selection (Only if you do not
have a preselected protocal).

[U]pload Files
--------------

You will be prompted for filename(s) and you will be required to enter a
dercription of up to 40 characters in length:

[ 1] EXAMPLE.ZIP
     |----5----10---15---20---25---30---40
[ 1] Example description up to 40 Long!!!

After you enter a blank [CR] you will be given a list and asked if the files
have typed in are what you want to upload. Duplicate checks are preccessed
after every file entered, so you don't have to worry about re-typing a
shorter list. You will be given a choice to say GOODBYE AFTER UPLOAD (Only
if the Sysop has this option turned on), if you have not pre-selected a
protocal you will be issued a protocal list to choose from and may begin
your upload.

[M]aster File list D/L
----------------------

You may choose to [D]ownload Mater File List or [S]earch Master File List
When downloading, if you have not pre-selected a protocal, you will be
issued a protocal list to choose from and may begin downloading the master
file list.

When searching the master file list, this gives you the ability to search
by description as well. Unfortunately you can NOT tag with this particular
search method. You MUST remember the filename to get that file. We will have
tagging abilities in a future release.

[S]earch for Files
------------------

As stated above, searching the master file list, this gives you the ability
to search by description as well. Unfortunately you can NOT tag with this
particular search method. You MUST remember the filename to get that file.
We will have tagging abilities in future a release.

You may also search for [N]ew Files or [D]ate file was added. This type
search will allow you to tag files you may want. When searching by date,
you will be prompted for date criterea i.e "01/01/92", and the search will
show you all file since that date.

[E]xamine Statistics
--------------------

If you choose the [E]xamine statistics option from the main file menu, you
will be given a sub-menu of choices to view certain statistics that deal
with this file system:

[1] Top 15 Downloads This will allow you to view the 15 most downloaded
files that have occured on this BBS and will allow
you to tag these files if you are interested. If
you do not have access to the area where a particular
file is located, the file name will be hidden and
the description will tell you that you do not have
                       access to that particular file.

[2] Number of Downloads by File Area This statistic will show you a bar
graph of how many files have been

note what areas are more popular by
                                      other users on this BBS.

[3] Number of Downloads by Protocal This graph shows you the most used
